TODAY WILL WE DISCUSS ABOUT SLIPPED DISC.
It is a condition in which problem get occurs in rubbery disc between the spinal cord. It happens when the soft centre of a spinal disc push through a crack in the tougher exterior casing. Rupturing of the tissues that separates the vertebral bones of the spinal column.
The centre of the disc, which is called the nucleus, which’s nature is soft, springy and receives the shock of standing, walking, running etc.
The outer ring of the disc which is called ANNULUS, provides structure and strength to the disc. The annulus consists of a complex series of interwoven layers of fibrous tissue that hold the nucleus in the place.

Reasons behind slipped disc
- Lifting heavy weights : while heavy lift the discs get compress and their may chances of slip disc, as due to tremendous pressure on spinal cord and back.
- Wrong sitting posture : wrong postures result in slipped disc as like when you used to sit or stand in wrong posture for longer duration, it will bent the spinal cord and may lead to change in posture permanently.
- Outer ring become weak (in old age ): In old age when you do not perform any kind of exercise or Yogasanas, which may lead to weaken the outer ring. In old age there is deficiency of calcium, which may finally leads to weaker outer ring.
- Overweight: Due to overweight there may be excess pressure on spin and disc, which may also lead to slipped disc.
- Weak back muscles : If your lower back muscle is weak and if you perform any lifting activity like squats, deadlift or lifting heavy objects, so it may also lead to slipped disc because when you lift your lower back engages in that activity.
This is most common problem in old age. As you get older, you are more likely to experience a slipped disc. This is because your disc begin to lose some of its protective water content as you age. As result, it can slip more easily from its place.
